Once again, Alain de Botton of The School of Life seduces us with an elementally comforting thought: our homes anchor our identities. "One needs to get home to remember who we are," he intones with dulcet resonance. "Our homes have a memorial function, and what they help us remember, strangely enough, is ourselves." (I'm a sucker for this stuff. )
