Enter Without Caution

Gold Brook Area Gold Mine.jpg

A soon-to-be-retired friend has purchased land in Nova Scotia that will occupy a good swath of his newfound time. I'm tempted to call it newfound land, but that's the province next door. He sent me this picture (above) of a mine adit (a word neither of us had heard before) not far from his property. He wrote that, "It reminds me of retirement: a black hole, a scary cavern containing who-knows-what evil thing. But actually, it's the entrance to a gold mine."
